'Εχω εγκατεστημένο το Diskeeper 2010 και μόλις σήμερα ανακάλυψα μια λειτουργία του για SSD...

Solid state drive (SSD) technology delivers faster and better performance than conventional hard disk drives. However, Microsoft Windows is not optimized for NAND Flash as a principal storage device, such as is used with SSDs. As a result, computers with SSD storage devices will eventually experience a very noticeable and dramatic performance deterioration (up to 80%), to the degree that they will operate much slower than they would with a hard disk. Research at Diskeeper Corporation has shown that SSD performance can be greatly improved by a special type of optimization.

HyperFast technology is the innovative new solution to increase performance and extend the useful life of Solid State Drives (SSDs). HyperFast automatically detects SSDs and applies specialized processing to optimize them. Using HyperFast technology, your SSDs will maintain that out-of-box speed for file writes, which would otherwise deteriorate over time. This optimization process also minimizes the number of erase-write cycles that would otherwise occur through normal use, thereby increasing SSD longevity.

A free trial of HyperFast is included with trial versions of Diskeeper. It can be licensed for an additional cost when purchasing Diskeeper.

Solid state drives suffer from these performance and reliability issues:

Free space fragmentation.

Finite lifespan that decreases with more writes over time.

As a result, regular defragmentation of SSD volumes is not as effective as it is on magnetic hard disk drives, and in fact it can shorten the lifespan of an SSD. To address these issues, the HyperFast SSD optimization technology uses specialized algorithms to reduce or eliminate free space fragmentation, while minimizing the number of file write operations it uses in the process. HyperFast optimization not only improves the performance of your SSD volumes, it can also increase the lifespan of the drive.

Εγώ πάλι και στους 3 το περασα το τελευταίο fw σε ACHI mode :baby:

Για όσους αντιμετωπίζουν "παγώματα"(Win 7), μια πιθανή λύση είναι η παρακάτω διαδικασία:

1. Download the latest Intel Matrix Storage Manager from my update notice above.

2. Run the installer as administrator. You should not get any errors.

3. Open Regedit and navigate to: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\iaSTOR\Parameters.

4. Change the LPMDSTATE value to zero for each port.

5. Reboot and enjoy a freeze-free system!

Καινούργιος 160ρης με περασμένο το τελευταίο firmware

Κοιτάξτε τα εξής και πείτε μου τι πιστεύετε - αναπαρήγαγα το πρόβλημα με την επεξεργασία εικόνων στο Photoshop.

Εδω δεν ξέρω αν φαίνεται τίποτα...

Κατα τις χρονικές στιγμές από πάνω, το συστημα παγώνει, δεν κάνει τίποτα ενώ επίσης υπάρχουν περιπτώσεις που ο κέρσορας παγώνει εντελώς. Τα διαστήματα αυτά κρατάνε από 3sec μέχρι μισό λεπτό. Είναι απίστευτα εκνευριστικό, συμβαίνει τον τελευταίο καιρό.

Ο δίσκος ειναι ο πρώτης γενιας X25-M Adata 80GB.

Εγώ πάντως στον 160ρη που πήρα σήμερα πέρασα το "προβληματικό" firmware χωρίς κανένα πρόβλημα.(ο 3ος G2 που έχω και έχω περάσει το τελευταιο firmware απροβληματιστα)

χμμ θα τα δοκιμασω..το ioh δε τοχω πειραξει καν.. κ τωρα σε τι τιμες εισαι αν επιτρεπεται? βλεπω κ οι 3 μας εχουμε ιδια cpu/mobo/ram

υπαρχει κανα guide για τετοια advanced παιχνιδια με τα voltages?

νομιζω οτι ο g1 ειναι μαυρος ενω ο 2 ασημενιος... κ στο part number φαινεται

Announcement: Intel® Solid-State Drive Toolbox Update -- Nov. 16, 2009

Microsoft* alerted Intel to an issue with the Intel® SSD Optimizer tool and Intel is working on a fix to the issue. After the SSD Optimizer is run, the SSD Optimizer renders all previously set Windows* system restore points unusable. However, user data is not affected. The SSD Optimizer tool is part of the Intel® SSD Toolbox (ver 1.1).

This applies only to users who meet all four criteria below:

• Use Windows*7 or Vista and

• Use the System Protection feature which sets system restore points (enabled by default in Windows*7 and Vista*) and

• Have installed 02HA firmware and

• Have used Intel SSD Optimizer (which was available from intel.com from 10/26 to 11/4).

A workaround for this issue and additional details are available here. Intel will give regular updates on this issue. Please note this issue is not related to the Intel SSD firmware update process covered in a separate announcement (Intel® Solid-State Drive Firmware Update).

Intel has confirmed an issue with the firmware update process for 34nm (G2) Intel® X25-M SSDs (80GB and 160GB). This predominantly affected Windows* 7 (64bit) users during or immediately after the upgrade process to 02HA firmware using the firmware update tool (version 1.3). Intel plans to release a fix for this issue by the end of November 2009.

Please see below to decide what you should do:

– If you have not upgraded to 02HA but using 02G2 or 02G9 – then use new tool when available to upgrade to new firmware to get Trim support and better sequential write performance (160GB)

– If you have successfully upgraded to 02HA - then continue using the SSD, there are no known issues.

– If you have received a SSD with 02HA pre installed – then continue using the SSD, there are no known issues.

– If you have unsuccessfully upgraded to 02HA - then contact Intel Customer Support for instructions on how to recover the SSD via secure erase or return SSD to Intel for replacement or refund.

Παρακαλώ κάποιον admin να banάρει τον χρήστη Lazy Dog, γιατί τόλμησε να αποκαλέσει τσίρκο τον "Bασιλιά" των cases TJ-07:jump1:

Σήμερα είπα να κάνω πάλι μια μέτρηση να δω τι γίνεται μετά το update...

Μειώθηκε λίγο το 512K read, αλλά οι τιμές στο write αυξήθηκαν λίγο όλες...

Ακόμη το ψάχνουν. Κάποια στιγμή μέσα στην επόμενη εβδομάδα να περιμένετε εξελίξεις...

Υπάρχει κάποια νεότερη επίσημη ή ανεπίσημη πληροφόριση απο την Intel για όλο αυτό το φιάσκο?

Όχι ακομη. Αν και κάτι μου λεει οτι δεν ευθυνεται αποκλειστικά η intel...ιδωμεν.

Παιδιά μην τρελαίνεστε! Όσοι αντιμετωπίζουν πρόβλημα(μέχρι τώρα τουλάχιστον) χρησιμοποιούν οδηγούς ACHI της μικρομαλακης. Όσοι είστε με τους οδηγούς της intel δεν έχετε τίποτα να φοβάστε. Προληπτικά μην χρησιμοποιείτε το Toolbox αν θελετε.

Προσωπικά, το optimizer το χρησιμοποιώ κάθε μέρα. Και οι 2 οι δίσκοι μου πετάνε.

Επειδή δεν εχω καταλάβει.. οι παλιοί καποια στιγμή θα χαλάσουν? Μετά απο πόσα χρόνια?

Εξαρτάται από τη χρήση που του κάνεις.

Μ'αρεσει που εγω το εκανα και σε ahci mode που δεν ειναι και οτι καλυτερο.

Για τους μικρότερους της παρέας(80GB), υπάρχει τίποτα νεότερο σχετικά με FW update;
