Make the digital home smart and future-proof with FRITZ!: new FRITZ! highlights for fiber optics, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Mesh Wi-Fi and smart home

At IFA 2024 the European communications specialist AVM will be presenting a new stand in hall 10.2 and a range of innovations for fiber optics, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Mesh Wi-Fi and the smart home. AVM is expanding its fiber portfolio and introducing new models: with the FRITZ!Box 5690 XGS for fast connections with 10 Gbit/s, the FRITZ!Box 5690, which achieves lightning-fast performance for GPON and AON, and the flexible FRITZ!Box 4690 wireless router, together with the top model FRITZ!Box 5690 Pro, users have a wide selection for fast and future-proof browsing via fiber optics. All models support the new Wi-Fi 7 generation and the high level of features for networked applications for the home and working from home that FRITZ!Box is known for.

Users can browse and stream at home at lightning speed via 5G mobile networks – this is made possible by the new FRITZ!Box 6860 5G for indoor and outdoor use. The fixed wireless access product supports 5G (NSA, SA) as well as LTE and achieves data rates of up to 1.3 gigabit/s. Equipped with strong Mesh Wi-Fi according to the Wi-Fi 6 standard, it can also distribute data wirelessly throughout the home. It also has a DECT base station for telephony and smart home applications.

Long-range Wi-Fi is another key IFA topic for AVM. With the FRITZ!Repeater 2400 W7 and FRITZ!Repeater 1200 W7, the Berlin-based company is introducing new Mesh Wi-Fi repeaters that for the first time support Wi-Fi 7. Every living environment has its own requirements when it comes to range - over several floors, thick walls, rooms with a lot of corners and angles. It is precisely for this need that AVM is expanding its Mesh Wi-Fi offering with the new FRITZ!Mesh Set 3000 Wi-Fi 6 and the FRITZ!Mesh Set 1200 Wi-Fi 6. They can be easily connected to a FRITZ!Box or another router and extend the Wi-Fi.

There is also something new in the smart home: AVM is introducing a new current sensor, FRITZ!Smart Energy 250, which users can use to monitor and optimize their energy consumption. In addition, FRITZ!DECT will be called FRITZ!Smart in the future. The well-known smart products for energy, heating, lighting and control will be given new names, but otherwise everything will remain typically FRITZ!: sophisticated technology, high levels of convenience, ease of use and free updates. All FRITZ!Smart products and a showcase for the Matter standard will be on display at the Smart Home area at the AVM stand. AVM will also be showcasing the more than 60 new features and improvements in FRITZ!OS 8. The upcoming update for all current products offers more convenience and a better overview and ensures stable and secure use.
