Received my unit this morning just to find out that the guy at the reception had left the box sitting on its side, ignoring the 4 huge "this side up" arrows...

Oh well left the unit sitting in my room and it took a while till i had the LCD unit installed.

straight away i noticed the evap tube is a lot lot more flexible.

the unit looks identical as the mach 2 but has 4 rubber fit underneith.

the right side of the cover has a little mark-bend from the compressor as it was hitting it during transportation i guess...

right away i started installing the intel CPU kit which had been changed since the one i had with my mach 2.

this one has only room for the heater on the back plate now(its not as deep) and has a shorter allen key which is a pain now to use.

i used an extra washer before the spring on the two screws used to fit the evap and started tightening the 4 screws on the back plate just to find out the two left ones(bottom and top) wouldnt get harder as i carried on screwing..i am sure the plate was installed properly they seemed to never tighten...i guess i got a defective cpu kit that may be causing not as good contact as needed...dunno yet-time will tell i am sure phil in extremeprometeia.com will sort me out if i need to replace the cpu kit...;)

i moved with my hand both sides of the mounting kit and it seemed rigid so i installed the evap right away.

So here are some pics of the Unit..will post some too in a few hours + a few results with temps.

With my Intel P4 3.0C SL6WU my temps are -34C reported by MBM @ 1.74-1.76V @ 4GHZ

the evap remains @ -47C with the fans in auto @1060RPM for the fans

running prime with small FFTs selected i get -19 -18C @ the same Vcore @ 4.1+Ghz

The unit seems to be slightly quieter than the Mach 2 i used to have.

I was getting -18C with my mach 2 and 1.7V selected in the bios running my 2.8M0 cpu @ 3855mhz and the Vcore was undervolting to like 1.62V IIRC before doing the mod. That is the cpu temp @ load...@ idle i was getting arround -32C average.

Dunno if i am getting good contact as my cpu kit is prolly busted i will sort it out though.

OK its been a couple of hours till i installed my unit...decided to take some temp readings with both load and idle conditions.

AS ceramique was used in a very small quantity on top of the CPU core.

The room temps were @ 24.2C for the tests @ stock speed and 22C for all other tests.

Prime 95 has been used while small ffts have been selected.

For the idle temps, the readings were taken after the unit has done the prime tests and the unit was left for about 5 minutes (it was less tbh) for the temps to drop while surfing the net

The cpu is an Intel P4 3.0C SL6WU L401

Motherboard is the ASUS P4C800E Deluxe with both the droop and Vdimm mod.

Fans set to FULL speed, i think the back plate is busted cos two of the screws wouldnt go hard while tightening so i should be loosing some contact pressure from these two screws...they are the top left and bottom left ones. One extra washer was used before the spring on the evap head screws.

The Vcore fluctuates a bit from load and idle as it can be seen, not as badly as before the Droop mod was performed though.I have used random fsbs by upping the Vcore too to increase the chips heat output, so it doesnt represent the overclockability of the chip at the given fsb.

Since the P4C800E cannot monitor temps under the -40C range the MBM sensor reports -112C...

The Control center had probs displaying the load graph on some tests which was cured later...
