καλα ποτε βγηκε για pc και δεν ακουστηκε τιποτα?

Δε πανε να δουν αν έρχομαι, έτσι που το κάνανε δεν πρόκειται να το ακουμπήσω. Ας βγάλουν το επόμενο XBOX exclusive, έτσι κι αλλιώς μόνο αυτή η αγορά τους ενδιαφέρει πλέον.

Digital distributors boycott MW2

Digital distributors Direct2Drive, Impulse and GamersGate have announced a boycott on Modern Warfare 2.

A number of large digital distribution services - namely Direct2Drive, Stardock's Impulse and GamersGate - have announced that they are boycotting Modern Warfare 2 and will never have the PC version of the game on sale on their networks.

The row stems from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's reliance on IWNet for multiplayer gaming, which is built on Valve's Steamworks system and therefore requires the installation of Steamworks to run.

"We don't believe games should force the user to install a Trojan Horse," a Direct2Drive spokesperson told Kotaku.

Activision and Infinity Ward announced that Modern Warfare 2 would make use of Valve's Steamworks system just a few weeks ago, at the same time saying that they implement the system in such a way that there is no support for dedicated servers and user-generated content.

The Steamworks tool kit itself however can be used to add a number of functions to Steam games, such as game authentication, auto-patching and syncing with the Steam Cloud. Valve have previously claimed that the system would make DRM completely obsolete and have released the system for free as a way to encourage developers to use it.

Direct2Drive has claimed it will boycott the title as it is unhappy that the game should require the installation of a rival's software and that it will not support or sell an Steamworks games until Valve "decouples itself from the marketplace".

Activision defends MW2 on PC

According to Activision the decision to remove dedicated server support in MW2 PC was for the best.

Activision president Mike Griffith has spoken out in defence of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, saying that the controversial decisions made around the PC version of the game were made in order to benefit the consumer experience as much as possible.

Those decisions include removing all dedicated servers and user-generated content, as well as halving the maximum number of players supported in the game.

"We're watching it very carefully and paying attention to it," said Griffith when asked in a conference call about what Activision thought of the player reaction against these changes and the 180,000-strong online petition.

He also claimed that the move to axe dedicated server support was one which would "improve the consumer experience overall by a significant margin", according to Kotaku.

"But we're not overly concerned about it...One of the problems with our PC SKUs in the past is that it has not been as friendly a consumer experience in terms of matchmaking and online play as the consoles have allowed it to be," he said.

Activision also reckons that the benefits of having a comparable system shared between PC and consoles, rather than having a seperate PC and console SKU, will far outweigh the negatives.

Το αγορασα σημερα απο ενα μαγαζι και εχουν σπασει τα νευρα μου. Το παιχνιδι ηταν σφραγισμενο, το ανοιξα εγω πρωτος και οταν παω να κανω install συνδεεται στο steam για να κανει activation (account στο steam εχω) και μου λεει cd key not valid.

2 περιπτωσεις παιζουν

α) ειμαι γκαντεμης

β) δεν κανει καν install πριν τις 12 του μηνα που θα ειναι available στο steam. Τοτε ανοιγουν οι servers.

Μολις μου απαντησαν απο το support της steam.

Το campaign ειναι πολυ καλό πάντως! Πολύ δράση και αρκετά δυσκολούτσικο θα έλεγα.

Δεν θυμαμαι να εχει βγει ποτε cod demo :(

Εγω το ειχα παίξει σε εναν φιλο την δεύτερα(! πολυ μπροστά οι πειρατές) που μας πέρασε αλλα το multi ειναι πολυυυυυυ μα πολύ noobfriendly :shout:.
