Hynix demos 16GB DDR3 DIMMs at IDF

Proving that MetaRAM technology can work with DDR3 memory too, Hynix is at IDF demonstrating its next-gen R-DIMMs, including 8 and 16GB 2-rank DDR3 modules. Codenamed HMT31GR7AER4C-GC and HMT32GR7AER4C-GD, the fresh 8 and 16GB DIMMs can triple DDR3 memory capacity in servers and workstations and will enable the world's highest memory capacity per channel.

Kim, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Hynix Semiconductor. "With this product introduction we expect to see growth in high performance, high density applications."

Hynix has previously used MetaRAM to manufacture 8GB DDR2 R-DIMMs.
