Old School is Best School - Season 3 - H.O.T. (Hellas Overclocking Team)

 

Λόγω δουλειάς και έλλειψης χρόνου , ξέχασα να ανοίξω το σχετικό thread.

 

Η συγκεκριμένη Season 3 , είναι σε εξέλιξη αυτή την περίοδο.

Συνοπτικά έχουμε τα εξής μέχρι στιγμής.

Round 1 of the Old School is Best School contest features the classic Intel Socket 771 with the option of also using modded Socket 775 motherboards. In terms of graphics contestants are limited to using Nvidia G96-based Quadro cards (single GPU only) or older. Benchmarks include Maxmen Read Bandwidth in Stage 1, 3DMark06 in Stage 2 and 3DMark Vantage for Stage 3.

Round 2 of the Old School is Best School contest overclockers are invited to bench on the fondly remembered AMD Socket 939 platform. These CPUs can be coupled with classic GeForce 7 series graphics cards from Nvidia (multi-GPU configurations allowed). Benchmarks include Cinebench 11.5 in Stage 1 (divided by core count), 3DMark Ice Storm in Stage 2 and the ASUS-developed RealBench in Stage 3.

Round 3 of the Old School is Best School contest we find a chance to revisit Intel’s Socket 478 which means digging out some old Intel Pentium 4 chips. These can be combined with any GPU manufactured by Matrox. Stage 1 of Round 3 is all about pushing Wprime 1024M, while in Stage 2 overclockers are tasked with benching on 3DMark01. Stage 4 involves benching the classic PCMark04.

Round 4 of the Old School is Best School contest we have an opportunity to go back in time and bench on the classic AMD Socket A platform (also known as Socket 462). When it comes to graphics overclockers must use an Nvidia GeForce 2 series card. Stage 1 is all about the highest CPU frequency possible (percentage OC) while Stage 2 involves benching the 3DMark01 app. Stage 3 takes us back in time to CineBench 03.

Round 5 of the Old School is Best School contest is a real trip down memory lane, involving CPUs from eras including Slot 1, Slot A and the long lost but still remembered Socket 7. Only classic ATi Rage graphics cards may be used. In terms of benchmarks, Stage 1 focuses on 3DMark99, Stage 2 is all about SuperPi 1M while Stage 3 involves HWBOT Prime.

*Το 2511 είναι μέσος όρος , γιατί το ένα cpu το ξεκλείδωσα σε multi (με L5 bridge mod) και έπαιξε στα 2592 ενώ το δεύτερο cpu με κλειδωμένο multi έμεινε στα 2429 λόγω fsb limit της μητρικής.

 Δυστυχώς το μόνο που έχω της εποχής είναι μια Riva TNT 2. Αν και μιλάω με pros, μη ξεχάσετε το tweak με το memory interleaving.

Οριστική , τελική κατάταξη για το φετινό διαγωνισμό του Old School is Best School - Season 3.

Πολλά μπράβο σε όσους συμμετείχαν (με κάθε τρόπο) είτε με bench , είτε με παροχή hardware , είτε συμβουλευτικά.

Ουσιαστικά , με χαμένα τα πρώτα δύο round , (όπου δέν είχαμε ικανό hardware) τα πήγαμε περίφημα.

 

5η θέση γενικής ... not bad

 

 

Διπλά μπράβο , στον Μπάμπη και το Στέλιο από την άλλη Ελληνική ομάδα , που πραγματικά έδωσαν ρεσιτάλ και δίκαια κέρδισαν το φετινό διαγωνισμό.
