EA is looking to launch the fourth numbered title in the Battlefield franchise between April 2013 and March 2014.

This announcement comes out of a recent Electronic Arts Q1 FY13 earnings call in which Battlefield 3 sales and subscription numbers were revealed.

According to VideoGamer, EA also touched on their future plans regarding the Battlefield franchise, stating that they are “aiming” for a window of April 2013 to March 2014 to release Battlefield 4.

Keep in mind that access to the Battlefield 4 beta is being handed out through each pre-order of Danger Close’s upcoming shooter, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, set for release this October 23. EA has confirmed that access to the beta will be be granted in fall 2013, meaning a release of Battlefield 4 between April 2013 to August 2013 would be highly unlikely.

We can safely speculate that EA will follow its current trend of releasing AAA shooters in the fall, or more specifically, in October 2013 (shortly after the Battlefield 4 beta, as was the case with Battlefield 3).

Νταξει αμα ειναι για μαρτιο 2014 καλα ειναι, ετσι κι αλλιως το τωρινο bugfield χωρις mod tools με το ζορι θα κρατηθει πανω απο 2 χρονια στο προσκηνιο.

Τουλαχιστον δεν βιαζονται να το κυκλοφορησουν γιορτινη περιοδο για εξτρα πωλησεις, αν νομιζουν παντως οτι θα μοσχοπουλησει ενα MW3 clone μονο και μονο λογω frostbite και υποτιθεμενου "exclusive" beta access ειναι βαθια νυχτωμενοι, οι gamers δεν ειναι (μεσοι)ελληνες ψηφοφοροι για να εχουν μνημη χρυσοψαρου, το πρωτο MoH ξενερωσε παρα πολυ κοσμο και δυστηχως ειχε τεραστιες ελλειψεις σε περιεχομενο, το μονο που νοσταλγω απτο συγκερκιμενο παιχνιδι ητανε το combat mission game mode τιποτα αλλο.

Τωρα για το BF4, απλα πιστευω οτι θα γινει η φαση σαν το φιφα, πραγματα που υπηρχανε στην προηγουμενη εκδοση(BF2) τα "ξεχασανε" στην τωρινη(BF3) για να τα βαλουνε την επομενη(BF4), μπορει να δουμε battlerecoder - κατι σαν theater mode φαση, bots, commander role, server setting για την ενεργοποιηση/απενεργοποιηση του client side lag compensation, mod tools, LAN support, ακομα και lean !! ( η ελπιδα πεθαινει τελευταια )

Το προβλημα τους ειναι πως να μπει σωστα στα χειριστηρια του xbox και το playstation, εδω στο προηγουμενο πορτ ( call me bad company 2 ) θελαμε να κανουμε defuse/arm το MCOM και η βλακεια μαζευε το kit επειδη ητανε διπλα στο πατωμα :S

Από την στιγμή που αποφάσισε η EA να κάνει το παιχνίδι ένα bf/cod hybrid μην περιμένετε να δείτε κάτι καλύτερο από το BF3. Εγώ προσωπικά το έχω λιώσει το game αλλά είναι πολλά μου με χαλάνε ιδιαίτερα από τεχνικής άποψης.

Απλά το bf4 δεν θα έχει τα ίδια bug, θα έχει άλλα. Πάντως θα είμαι διστακτικός αυτήν την φορά σε προπαραγγελία, ότι βιντεάκια και να βγάλουν.

According to EA’s employees, the current-generation version will run at 30fps while the next-generation version will run at 60fps. Next-gen consoles (and PC) will support 64 players on MP, while current-gen consoles won’t be able to support such a feature (and will probably feature 32 players battles). In addition, DICE might introduce an fps cap for the PC version. No reason to worry though, as the cap will be at 100fps. It is also said that DICE won’t introduce a lot of new features, however Battlefield 4 will support tessellation and dynamic lighting.

Voice commands have been confirmed, as well as Commander’s role in MP (with new tools and abilities). Moreover, Battlelog will be improved and the integration of game statistics will be better than ever. The game will take place in modern-day scenarios and it will support video sharing, meaning that gamers will be able to watch videos directly via Battlelog. Cloud storage for stats and such things has also been confirmed.

For the first time ever, Battlefield will support female characters. Three factions will be playable; USA, Russia and China. We should also note that an early demo video of the game was already shown in that EA internal conference.
