Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock Delayed Into April

With so much positive buzz surrounding Supermassive Games’ Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock over the last few weeks, Whovians have had a lot to look forward to this month. Now it seems that they must wait a little longer, after the game’s official Twitter account announced that the game is now facing an April release date. The tweet reassured fans, stating, “Finishing touches just being added to Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock with the release now set for April – believe us, it’s worth the wait!”

The Eternity Clock will be a PSN exclusive, with a PC version in the works as well. Players will either alternately or cooperatively control both the Doctor and his wife, River Song, solving puzzles and platforming through 17 side-scrolling levels, spanning both time and space. Locations range from Victorian England to the Dalek battleship in deep space. Both Matt Smith and Alex Kingston have lent their voices and likenesses to the game, and over 5000 lines of dialogue have been recorded.

The game is expected to encompass between 8-10 hours to complete, with DLC and future installments planned for the future. ”We’ve got really big plans. This was planned to be the first in a series of games, so the story is set up in that way,” said Simon Harris of BBC Worlwide’s gaming division.

With the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who coming up in 2013, something big may be on the horizon. We’ll be sure to report the details as they come. Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock is expected for an April release, with pricing details still unconfirmed.
